Burberry has one of the most beautiful makeup ranges I have seen recently. The typical Burberry cross, embossed on the metallic product packaging as well as the products directly (lipsticks, blush), is drool worthy.
After seeing the Burberry Effortless Contouring Pen for Face & Eyes used everywhere at the Spring/Summer 2016 makeup looks, and hearing the words “slim” and “mistake proof”, I knew I just HAD to try it. I picked mine up at Sephora Mall of the Emirates (in the shade Medium 01) for AED170, but it is slightly cheaper in the US ($37).
P.S. If you have been living under a rock, contouring (from Kim K fame) refers to the art of using makeup to sculpt your face.
This product claims that it “creates soft shadows to enhance, define and sculpt the face. With a perfect design for precise application, the lightweight texture blends on seamlessly for subtle, natural-looking shadows and contouring without leaving behind any harsh lines”…I can vouch for each of these.
The texture is wonderful, it blends like a dream, leaving absolutely no sharp edges. Here’s a quick before/after (because we all have trust issues) of how I used it, and the results. I did not apply a lot of product but I did try layering it on twice and you can really build this up. You can also use it to define the eye sockets, and slim down the nose.

A lot of brands do similar contour products, including Tarte and Clinique, but I haven’t been able to find a budget friendly alternate yet besides NYX. However, there are some powder contour kits out there (such as Maybelline, Sleek, Seventeen and Collection), so I’m hoping it’s just a matter of time for this product form to make it’s way too.
If, like me, you cannot get enough of Burberry, have a look at this post to see the Burberry makeup display at Sephora in Mall of the Emirates, Dubai.
