TMI: Travel Skincare / Personal Products

If you follow me on snapchat (saniawaqar) or instagram (here), you will know that I am currently on a work trip to South Africa (Johannesburg).

I am here for about 3 (and a half) days, so here’s what I brought along in terms of personal/skincare products.

To take off the makeup:

  1. Sample size of the Bioderma cleansing water – not my favourite, but a handy little travel size I had in my stash
  2. The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil – this is in the Sephora bottle in the picture above. I love this stuff! It smells great and it’s really light and effective to use

To cleanse

The one and only Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser, which is gentle enough to be used day and night, and does the job pretty well. The travel size is very handy and available at the airport as well.

Post-cleanse serum

The Eucerin concentrate for evening/brightening up the skin and dark spots. I got this in the January Glambox and I have been enjoying using it. Also, it is the cutest little bottle.

Face cream

A sachet of the Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream (again, a sample I had). It does not have any SPF so perfect for day and/or night, and a great makeup base, all rolled into one. I get my SPF from the Dior Nude Skin BB Cream later.

Lip balm

Lamer ‘The lip balm’, which was a Huda Beauty enabled purchase. Again, I think I have used better ones, but I can’t really tell the difference between lip balms unless they are extremely terrible. This was a VERY expensive product, and one I will not be repurchasing, but it’s light and easy to carry around (and tastes great, ssshh!)

Body Lotion / Cream

Ok. Let’s get one thing straight first – i HATE hotel body lotions. They smell weird and they are usually watery (unless the hotels stock Elemis, Loccitaine, etc). Luckily, and since I travel so often, I have travel sizes of my favourite lotions in stock, and currently using the Soap & Glory Righteous Butter. I also have the full sized one, but for some strange reason, I feel like the travel size is much nicer to use.

I also got along some perfumes and deodorants that were almost running out so I figured I would use them and then discard them here (so I can make more space for the souvenirs I am taking back!)

General rule – buy and stock travel sized products, use the samples you get from your favourite stores, and try to bring along products that can multitask as day and night products!

That’s all, folks! Let me know some of your favourite multitasking travel products!
