I have been curious to try something from the IT Cosmetics range for a while now, and I figured the CC Cream would be too risky without knowing my colour match, so I picked the Bye-Bye Under Eye Anti-Ageing Concealer from Beautylish.
The product comes in 4 shades – Light, Neutral Medium, Tan and Deep. I got mine in the Neutral Medium shade.
The concealer claims to bring skincare and anti-ageing benefits, along with coverage, as it contains Vitamins K, A, C, E and Collagen, which are supposed to reduce puffiness and combat dark circles. The formula is also waterproof, so expected to be long lasting.
The consistency of the concealer is extremely thick, and it took me a while to figure out the best way to apply it. I squeezed out way too much initially, and it went on very thick and was difficult to blend. I felt really conscious when I was wearing this the first few times as I thought it was too light for my skin tone.
However, I soon realized that the best way to apply it is to squeeze out a tiny pin-head sized amount on your ring finger, rub it between the fingers to make it slightly warm, and then pat it on to the under-eye area. This makes it really easy to blend, and undetectable on the skin. It can then be layered on for more coverage, if required. I like to set this product with my Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder.
- High coverage, long lasting and waterproof
- Contains ingredients to enhance skin over time
- The packaging is a bit wonky – the tube was twisted in a certain way (not flat like it should be). I thought initially this might just be an issue with my tube, but I saw the same on someone’s youtube channel.
- Limited colour range
Here’s a before/after (no filters) – the change in natural lighting makes it look a bit more dramatic in terms of colour tone.
Concealer is an essential for me; I am constantly in search of the perfect one and have tried a butt-load over the last 18 months or so. These range from drugstore products such as the Rimmel Wake me Up, all the way to high-end ones like Dior Star.
Although my favourite so far remains the Urban Decay Naked Weightless concealer, the IT Cosmetics Bye-Bye Under Eye Anti Ageing Concealer is a good addition to my stash! x
