Review: Jouer Long-Wear Lip Crème Liquid Lipstick

I posted about my Cult Beauty haul last week (here), and one of the stand-out items for me was the Jouer Long-Wear Lip Crème Liquid Lipstick. It has been sold-out since it launched on most websites, and I was on the wait list for Cult Beauty, so I was beyond excited when it was finally available.

I got the shade Petal De Rose, but it comes in 16 beautiful shades, including nudes, peaches, pinks, reds and browns.

The lip colour is Paraben Free, and contains other good stuff such as Vitamin E, which nourish the lips.

The first time I applied it, i put on a thick layer, and it gave a more bold colour pay-off. The lip creme is easy to apply, goes on smooth, and stays on for a good 4-5 hours (I ate some greasy parathas and a chocolate crepe another day). It also fades very evenly, so it doesn’t look patchy or leave that ugly outline.

More recently, I have started to apply a thinner layer for a more natural colour. I first outline my lips with the tip of the applicator, and then fill them in.

Here are a few awkward angles, because I was trying to capture the true colour in the best light possible.

Overall, I love the product, the packaging, and the feel.

Although, I make sure I apply a lip balm underneath before putting this on, otherwise, a thick layer can make your lips feel dry and almost impossible to smack together (does that sound right?).jou064_jouer_long-wearlipcremeliquidlipstick_swatches-bgbocI am definitely purchasing more shades (hello, Lychee and Framboise) when I place my next order, or travel to the UK/US.

  1. Any lip balm would do – depending on what suits your skin. Something from BodyShop, Kiehl’s or even the regular pharmacy would do 🙂

I try to stay away from the Petroleum based ones like Vaseline now because I feel like they dry my lips even more over time.
